Building Department

The Building Department performs inspections of commercial and residential properties for compliance with ADA, Fair Housing Guidelines, county ordinances and building codes, and to review and approve plans for new construction. The department also administers and enforces the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code and the Property Maintenance codes to ensure the safety and welfare of residents.

For more information about the building inspection process, please call 769-4969 or visit the office. All inspection requests must be in by 9:00 a.m. for same day service.

Building Permit Fees can now be paid online. Refer to the Fee Schedule for amount due and add 2% State Levy to calculate the total. To confirm amount due, contact the Building Department at 769-4969. Follow this link to make your payment online.
