King William County operates a central water system that serves the Central Garage area, including King William High School, Central Crossing Shopping Center, the Shops at Central Crossing and McCauley Park, Central Crossing and Kennington subdivisions. Virginia Peninsulas Public Service Authority (VPPSA) operates the county’s recycling facilities. Recycling facilities are available at each of the county’s Convenience Centers and the Tranfser Station. Paper items that can be recycled include newspapers, corrugated cardboard boxes, brown paper bags, magazines, catalogs, telephone books, junk mail, school and office paper and paper boxes such as cereal and shoe boxes. Other household containers that can be recycled include glass bottles and jars, metal food and beverage cans, aluminum foil, empty and dry metal paint cans, empty metal aerosol cans, soda bottles, milk jugs, laundry detergent bottles and other plastic containers marked with #1 and #2 with the recycle logo on the bottom of the container. The table below shows items that are accepted or not accepted at each of VPPSA’s sites.
